Snugg: A complete design and renovation project for an emerging children’s clothes retailer in Sheffield, www.snuggkids.co.uk. The brief was to create a unique, refined and simple interior incorporating some Scandinavian design aesthetics, natural materials and a very neutral colour pallet.
The job included a mature tree sunk into the shop floor and a number of birch log details throughout the shop. Reclaimed wooden cladding was used as cladding in various locations with a white and driftwood wash creating a varied but subtle effect. a light ‘micro-cement’ (concrete effect material) was used for the sales desk, floor and some nesting freestanding display units.
As is not always the case, almost no changes were made from the initial design work, meaning that our initial presentation to the client was almost identical to the finished product.
Some complex details involved housing radiators throughout the shop, concealed LED lighting, suspended clothing rails and a number of white washed CNC-cut birch-ply pegboards, creating versatile display areas for the client. Bespoke hanging lamps were made for the sales counter and cut birch firewood used to create feature log walls with integrated trailing plants.
